Our Team

Dr. Boyer joined the practice in November 2004, became a partner at Sisson-Boyer Eyecare in 2009, and is now the sole owner. Dr. Boyer provides medical eye care and vision care with an interest in contact lenses, new technology in spectacle lenses, and ocular disease. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Millersville University in 1997, graduating with cum laude honors.

Dr. Walter joined our practice in September 2012. He provides primary eye care with a special interest in ocular disease and contact lenses. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. Dr. Walter then attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, during which time he interned at Sisson-Boyer Eyecare. 

Dr. Purva Patel has recently joined the practice. She is currently working on Mondays only. She is currently seeing patients part-time. Dr. Patel graduated from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. She resides with her family in Cumberland County.

Summerlee serves as our Office Manager; she joined our team in 2018 and worked as an optician. She came to Sisson-Boyer Eyecare with over 10 years of optical experience. Cross-trained in all departments, you may see her at check-in, while getting pre-tested before your appointment, or even when selecting or picking up your eyeglasses. She loves all things eye-related! Summerlee has maintained certification by the American Board of Opticianry since 2009. She lives in Juniata County with her husband, Kyle, and their son. She enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.

Sherry joined our team in 2013. She assists patients with choosing eyewear, and also assists with pre-testing. Sherry lives in Millerstown. She enjoys the beach, kayaking, hanging out with friends, and all of her grandchildren.

Melissa joined our team in 2018 and works in the billing office. Melissa and her husband, Keith, enjoy spending time with their 2 rescue dogs. She enjoys traveling, the beach and fun game nights with family and friends.

Deb joined our team in 2020 and is our lead technician. She does preliminary tests, prepping each patient to see one of our Optometrists. Deb was born and raised in Perry County. She enjoys being outdoors and spoils us with her delicious baked goods.

Edward is our remote administrative assistant dedicated to supporting our practice and helping provide a seamless experience for our patients. His strong organizational skills, reliability, and attention to detail contribute to the smooth operation of our daily workflow. Outside of work, he enjoys discovering great food, spending time outdoors, and caring for his pets. Edward's enthusiasm and commitment to our patients make him an essential part of our team.

Kayla is a proud Penn State graduate and a Nittany Lions football fan! She joined the practice in 2025 and loves to help patients find the perfect frame, one that makes them feel confident and comfortable. When she’s not at work, you can usually find her spending time with her dachshunds, traveling to new places – Disney is her favorite – or trying out new recipes in the kitchen.

Kevleina joined our team in May 2026 as our Front Desk Specialist. Originally from upstate New York, she is a proud mom of four children and pet mom to three cats and one dog. She enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, whether its creek swimming, camping, decorating, or baking.
